Role Overview:

As an Immunisation Nurse, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Specialist Nurse for Immunisation in delivering comprehensive immunisation services across Jersey. Your responsibilities will include training immunisers, organising vaccination clinics, ensuring accurate data collection, and promoting patient safety through best practices in vaccine administration and storage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of influenza, COVID, and other vaccination programmes
  • Provide training to healthcare professionals involved in immunisation
  • Ensure compliance with national immunisation programmes and standards
  • Support vaccine storage and cold chain management
  • Participate in audits and contribute to process improvement initiatives

Statutory Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all relevant statutory responsibilities applicable to the role
  • Safely and responsibly utilise equipment and resources

  • Provide expert nursing advice and training

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in nursing
  • Teaching and Mentorship qualification
  • Thorough knowledge of NMC Code (2015)

Desirable:

  • Degree or working towards
  • Certified current vaccinator

Skills and Aptitudes:

  • Proficient in vaccination techniques and phlebotomy
  • Ability to interpret serology testing
  • Strong keyboard and computer skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Confidence in challenging poor practice and facilitating training sessions
