Due to an expansion in our services, we're thrilled to offer a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and experienced registered nurse to join our Day Surgery team as a Senior Staff Nurse. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part within our multi-disciplinary day surgery team, overseeing a bustling surgery schedule and delivering top-notch patient care from admission to discharge. Mentoring and guiding junior colleagues will also be a key aspect of your role. We're seeking an NMC registered staff nurse with substantial experience in Surgical Nursing, driven by a passion for delivering exemplary healthcare.

This position entails a 37.5 hour work week, spread across 3 days, with shifts scheduled between 07:00 am – 20:30 pm, Monday - Sunday.

Role Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments, devising tailored care plans, and executing care delivery based on individual patient needs.
  • Exemplifying sound clinical practices and maintaining accountability for personal actions, adhering strictly to the NMC Code of Conduct.
  • Upholding meticulous records of patient care.
  • Collaborating within a team setting, overseeing, mentoring, and supporting junior colleagues, and stepping in for senior staff when required.
  • Demonstrating unwavering integrity and confidentiality in patient interactions.

Person Specification:

  • Possession of a BSc in Adult Nursing (or equivalent) and a valid NMC registration.
  • Prior experience in Day Surgery and surgical nursing.
  • A proactive, positive approach to patient care, coupled with a commitment to delivering healthcare excellence.
  • Familiarity with clinical governance principles and evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Adept at cultivating relationships, with the ability to effortlessly engage with consultants, peers, and patients.
