We are currently seeking a dedicated Senior Staff Nurse to join our client's esteemed team. Role Overview:

As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in our multi-disciplinary team, offering crucial support to young individuals on their journey to recovery from eating disorders. Your responsibilities will include implementing treatment plans, providing clinical care, and fostering therapeutic relationships with patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical care to inpatients in accordance with prescribed treatment plans.
  • Plan, implement, assess, and evaluate nursing care using evidence-based practices.
  • Manage a team, including conducting supervision, appraisals, and addressing conduct or capability issues.
  • Ensure compliance with NICE and MEED guidelines, as well as Mental Health Act and Children Act requirements.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and contribute to therapeutic group activities.
  • Manage therapeutic meal provision and medication administration.
  • Uphold safeguarding principles in all interactions with young individuals and their families.

Key Accountabilities:

Clinical:

  • Work in line with NICE and MEED guidelines.
  • Contribute to specialised assessments of eating disorders.
  • Facilitate therapeutic groups and maintain supportive relationships with carers.
  • Ensure safe medication administration and equipment management.
  • Demonstrate awareness of safeguarding principles.

Support:

  • Supervise and manage nursing and HCA teams.
  • Contribute to MDT meetings and provide clinical supervision.
  • Attend organisational meetings and ensure health and safety compliance.

Administrative:

  • Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care.
  • Conduct risk assessments and participate in Health & Safety audits.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse (RMN, LD, or Registered Children’s Nurse).
  • Continued professional development.
  • Skills in clinical risk assessment and communication.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary team settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Desirable:

  • Ability to contribute to colleague induction and mentorship.
  • Familiarity with Junior Marzipan guidelines.
  • Experience with electronic patient record systems.

  • Effective time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and sensitively with clients and colleagues.
  • Initiative and dedication to promoting the welfare of children and young people.
