Sanctuary Personnel are currently seeking a Senior Registered Nurse to join our client's team and oversee the management of a dedicated team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality holistic care to our service users, adhering to the policies and procedures of our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants to ensure effective assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Performance management of clinical staff, including recruitment, induction, development, supervision, appraisal, and discipline.
  • Building and leading an effective team in a clinical setting.
  • Collaborating with volunteers and supporting their integration within the team.
  • Facilitating the participation of service users or their families/carers in the care planning and review process.
  • Maintaining communication and liaison with various departments, both internally and externally.

Complexity and Accountability:

  • Delegating responsibilities appropriately and ensuring safe practice.
  • Ensuring adequate staff cover and providing out-of-hours clinical support.
  • Managing and assessing risks to staff and service users.
  • Contribution to cost management and monitoring of supplies.
  • Participation in quality standards and clinical audits.
  • Contributing to the development of nursing care and services.

Other Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing support, leadership, recognition, and supervision to team members.
  • Demonstrating activities to new or less experienced employees.
  • Providing educational support to service users, carers, families, and colleagues.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records of service user consultation.
  • Applying legal policies supporting the identification of vulnerable adults.
  • Maintaining professional development and supporting staff training.
  • Adherence to organisational policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring a safe working environment and maintaining service user confidentiality.

Qualifications Required:

  • NMC Registered Nurse with post-registration experience.
  • Completion of NMC recognised accredited mentor training or willingness to undertake.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.

Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven leadership skills in a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of current legislation within the independent care sector.
  • Familiarity with best clinical practices for the client group.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and motivate others.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Negotiation and conflict management abilities.
  • Change management proficiency.
  • Capacity to provide teaching and mentorship in a clinical setting.
