Sanctuary Personnel are currently seeking a Senior Registered Nurse to join our client's team and oversee the management of a dedicated team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality holistic care to our service users, adhering to the policies and procedures of our organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants to ensure effective assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Performance management of clinical staff, including recruitment, induction, development, supervision, appraisal, and discipline.
- Building and leading an effective team in a clinical setting.
- Collaborating with volunteers and supporting their integration within the team.
- Facilitating the participation of service users or their families/carers in the care planning and review process.
- Maintaining communication and liaison with various departments, both internally and externally.
Complexity and Accountability:
- Delegating responsibilities appropriately and ensuring safe practice.
- Ensuring adequate staff cover and providing out-of-hours clinical support.
- Managing and assessing risks to staff and service users.
- Contribution to cost management and monitoring of supplies.
- Participation in quality standards and clinical audits.
- Contributing to the development of nursing care and services.
Other Responsibilities Include:
- Providing support, leadership, recognition, and supervision to team members.
- Demonstrating activities to new or less experienced employees.
- Providing educational support to service users, carers, families, and colleagues.
- Maintaining accurate and timely records of service user consultation.
- Applying legal policies supporting the identification of vulnerable adults.
- Maintaining professional development and supporting staff training.
- Adherence to organisational policies and procedures.
- Ensuring a safe working environment and maintaining service user confidentiality.
Qualifications Required:
- NMC Registered Nurse with post-registration experience.
- Completion of NMC recognised accredited mentor training or willingness to undertake.
- Evidence of continued professional development.
Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven leadership skills in a clinical setting.
- Knowledge of current legislation within the independent care sector.
- Familiarity with best clinical practices for the client group.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and motivate others.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Negotiation and conflict management abilities.
- Change management proficiency.
- Capacity to provide teaching and mentorship in a clinical setting.
