Job Overview:

Sanctuary Personnel are seeking an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) for Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) within our client's Health and Community Services Department. As an integral member of our team, you will operate independently and collaboratively, serving as an expert Advanced Practitioner responsible for managing a complex patient caseload within the specialty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead in providing clinical assessment and diagnosis for effective treatment of patients with primary/urgent healthcare needs.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic interventions autonomously, adhering to local and national protocols.
  • Prescribe and administer complex medication regimes, ensuring adherence to professional regulatory frameworks.
  • Obtain informed consent from patients, providing comprehensive information on treatment options and alternatives.
  • Manage highly complex clinical situations, initiating treatment in cases of deteriorating clinical conditions.
  • Communicate sensitive medical information effectively to patients and their families, ensuring understanding and providing support.
  • Provide nurse-led services for patients with acute, chronic, and life-limiting diseases, including developing individualised care pathways.
  • Develop and maintain professional networks, contribute to research, and provide leadership in clinical practice.

Person Specification:

  • Challenge colleagues to support their development through collaborative working.
  • Disseminate complex information effectively to staff at all levels, acting as a role model for patient-centred care.
  • Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to meet patients’ ongoing care needs.
  • Communicate and liaise with primary care colleagues to ensure seamless patient care between secondary and primary settings.

Qualifications & Skills:

Essential:

  • Regulated Health Care Professional with current registration.
  • Master’s degree in advanced clinical practice.
  • Nationally accredited Independent Prescriber qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ senior-level experience.
  • Intermediate Life Support (ILS).

Desirable:

  • Supervision/leadership/mentoring training.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS).
  • Teaching and assessing qualifications in specialty-specific areas.

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of local and national healthcare policies and strategies.
  • Knowledge of legal, ethical, and professional responsibilities in advanced practice.
  • Experience in service improvement and innovation.

Technical Work-Based Skills:

  • Ability to engage, motivate, and support teams to high standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in IT and keyboard skills.
