Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to provide exceptional personalised nursing care to a specified group of service users, ensuring the highest standards of quality and support for both service users and their families. This role will involve leading the care team and assuming responsibility for the clinical area in the absence of the Senior Nurse.

Position in Organisation:

Reporting directly to the Senior Nurse/Team Leader, the Staff Nurse will provide leadership, appraisal, and supervision to team members. In the absence of senior leadership, the post holder will take charge of shifts and allocate responsibilities accordingly. Collaboration with the nursing and multi-disciplinary teams is essential for delivering integrated, proactive, and high-quality care.

Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individualised care assessments and ensure collaborative care delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to organisational policies and procedures.
  • Manage patient care during shifts and liaise with medical professionals as needed.
  • Facilitate service user participation in care planning and uphold quality standards.
  • Provide support, leadership, and supervision to team members, representing the service when required.
  • Report incidents, complaints, and compliments in accordance with organisational protocols.

Scope of Job:

Clinical / Technical Responsibility:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care based on evidence-based practice.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care delivery.

Clinical Governance / Quality:

  • Maintain standards of care in accordance with regulatory guidelines and organisational policies.
  • Contribute to clinical audits and supervise team members.

Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Support, lead, and supervise team members to ensure smooth service operations.
  • Represent the service when required and maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Training and Development:

  • Attend mandatory and priority training sessions.
  • Uphold professional standards as outlined by relevant regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse, preferably experienced in neurological or specialist palliative care.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant post-registration training within one year.
  • Commitment to continued professional development and awareness of legislation in the independent care sector.
  • Completion of accredited mentor training by NMC.

Experience and Skills:

  • Dedication to service user involvement and demonstrated interest in the client group.
  • Ability to implement and monitor clinical standards and lead effective teams.
  • Adaptability to complex and stressful environments, with effective coping strategies.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and initiative in unsupervised settings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a flexible approach to working patterns.
