Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking passionate and dedicated Registered Nurses for a Palliative Care - Inpatient Unit based in Peterborough.

About Our Client:

Our facility, located in Peterborough, is dedicated to delivering exceptional palliative care to individuals aged 18 and above. We provide support for patients with life-limiting conditions while also offering invaluable assistance to their families and loved ones. Our facility is equipped with medically light beds, catering to patients who designate us as their Preferred Place of Death (PPOD). We also accommodate short stay admissions for complex symptom management before patients return to their Preferred Place of Care (PPOC).

About the Role:

We are currently offering full and part-time positions with rotational shifts, providing a range of options such as earlies, lates, 12-hour day shifts, nights, weekends, and both long and short shifts to ensure an optimal work-life balance. As our services operate around the clock, we require candidates with flexibility to cover night and weekend shifts.

Successful candidates will actively contribute to our multidisciplinary team, focusing on enhancing the quality of life for our patients. This role involves tailored support to meet individual medical, social, spiritual, and emotional needs, collaborating closely with Specialty Doctors, therapy staff, volunteers, and other essential members of the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care using evidence-based guidelines
  • Manage medicines, including administering regular medications and setting up syringe drivers and IV medication
  • Maintain high standards of care delivery within regulatory body standards and organisational policies
  • Serve as an ambassador of our organisation to service users, relatives, colleagues, and the public
  • Proficiency in computer-based systems, including SystmOne, is advantageous
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping in line with established procedures
  • Support student placements at the hospice

About You:

  • NMC registered nurse with post-registration experience in acute medical care or community/hospice settings
  • Palliative care experience is desirable, though applicants from various nursing backgrounds are welcome, provided they possess a willingness to learn and grow within palliative care
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to use initiative
