We are currently seeking a compassionate and proficient registered nurse to join our Preoperative Assessment team as a Ward Sister / Charge Nurse. As a pivotal member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will manage a dynamic caseload, provide support to the Clinical Nurse Manager, and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care and service. This role is ideally suited for an NMC registered staff nurse with prior experience in Preoperative Assessment, who embodies patient-centric care and exemplifies leadership in healthcare excellence.

This position entails 37.5 hours per week, scheduled over 4 – 5 days, within the hours of 08:00 am – 18:00 pm, Monday - Friday.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate adherence to high clinical standards, taking accountability for actions in line with the NMC Code of Practice.
  • Collaborate within a team, overseeing and guiding junior staff, and assuming senior responsibilities when necessary.
  • Foster a supportive environment, serving as a mentor for junior colleagues and advocating for continuous learning.
  • Maintain meticulous records of patient care.
  • When needed, assess staffing allocations, ensuring alignment with patient demand and activity levels.

Person Specification:

  • Possess a BSc in Adult Nursing (or equivalent) and maintain a current NMC PIN.
  • Demonstrate post-registration clinical experience in preoperative assessment.
  • Display a patient-centered approach with a commitment to service enhancement.
  • Exhibit enthusiasm, a results-oriented mindset, and resilience under pressure.
  • Show genuine interest in personal and team development.
