Due to an expansion in our services, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Preoperative Assessment team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective assessment of patients scheduled for surgery. This role is ideal for a passionate individual who thrives in a clinical setting that values staff development and collaboration.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate excellent clinical practice and take accountability for your actions.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients to determine their suitability for surgery prior to admission, following relevant pathways.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using our preassessment digital portal (Lifebox).
  • Provide assistance to patients in completing their medical history on Lifebox when necessary.
  • Promote infection prevention and control practices in your daily work.

Person Specification:

  • NMC registered staff nurse.
  • Previous experience in preoperative assessment.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and its practical application.
  • Sound knowledge of clinical governance principles.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with consultants, colleagues, and patients.
  • Experience with electronic pre-assessment systems is advantageous.
