Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled Mammographer to join our dynamic Breast Unit team. As a Mammographer, you will play a pivotal role in the early detection and diagnosis of breast health, ensuring the highest standard of patient care in accordance with UK healthcare guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing mammography examinations with precision and proficiency using advanced imaging equipment.
  • Creating a compassionate and reassuring environment for patients during mammography procedures.
  • Overseeing quality control processes to maintain accurate and consistent imaging results.
  • Adhering to strict radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
  • Maintaining precise patient records, adhering to data privacy regulations in the UK.
  • Providing training and mentorship to junior mammographers, fostering their skill development.
  • Collaborating with the Breast Unit to ensure proper maintenance and functionality of equipment.
  • Staying current with UK regulations, guidelines, and best practices in mammography.
  • Educating patients about mammography procedures and the importance of breast health screenings.
  • Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals in the Breast Unit to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
  • Certification in Mammography by a UK-accredited institution.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Radiographer.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mammographer.
  • Proficiency in mammography techniques, equipment operation, and quality assurance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
  • Strong commitment to patient safety, privacy, and dignity.
