The salary for this permanent Senior Occupational Therapist job is £55,293.84 - £60.931.11 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Collaborate within the multidisciplinary team to optimize client treatment, contributing to care decisions.
  • Provide support and education to clients' relatives and caregivers.
  • Engage in regular self-reflection and performance evaluation.
  • Maintain a professional portfolio for continuous development.
  • Contribute to service improvement plans for occupational therapy.
  • Design and deliver therapy services in consultation with clients and clinical teams.
  • Adhere to relevant policies and procedures.
  • Prioritise and respond promptly to referrals.
  • Promote social inclusion and recovery-based approaches.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and agencies to meet clients' needs.
  • Share knowledge between mental and physical health settings.
  • Actively participate in safeguarding and training initiatives.
  • Support the education of occupational therapy students and staff.
  • Engage in personal development reviews and training.
  • Adhere to professional codes of conduct.

Requirements of the Senior Occupational Therapist:

  • Hold a Professional Qualification (Degree or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Membership with the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).
  • Understanding of the legal responsibilities associated with the profession.
  • Awareness of assessing, managing, and preventing risks in the working environment.
  • Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance and their practical application.
  • Familiarity with practice standards and the Code of Conduct outlined by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and HCPC standards.
  • Specialised knowledge in OT assessment and intervention relevant to the client group.
  • Ability to comprehend and operate within organisational policies while meeting the diverse needs of patients.
