Location: Ty Aberdafen, Llanelli
Salary: £54,000 per annum

About Our Client:
Our client is a charity that aims to improve the lives of people with brain injuries in the UK. Their assessment centres, rehabilitation units and hospitals use expert neurorehabilitation to support people to regain the skills they have lost. They treat people with a range of brain injuries – sustained through trauma, illness, substance abuse and more – to recover and meet their personal goals.

Purpose of the role:
You will join the team in their highly regarded service at Ty Aberdafen. Ty Aberdafen is a 24 bedded unit in Llanelli, Wales providing rehabilitation to people with acquired brain injury. In this role you will work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team (including Therapy Assistants and Rehabilitation Support Workers) using the neurobehavioural model. The focus is to provide person centred rehabilitation that is evidence based. You will have scope to work with service users in a holistic way to address all aspects of recovery and to regain maximal independence including participation in social, leisure and vocational activities.

About You:

  • A diploma or a degree in occupational therapy and registered with HCPC
  • The ability to work as an autonomous therapist with experience in neurological rehabilitation
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a complex caseload
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
  • Ability to formulate complex risk assessments
  • Experience supervising and training others
  • A valid UK driving licence
