You will be supported by an Ultrasound Healthcare Assistant and receive pre-booked, set patient appointments throughout the clinic each day. Responsibilities: Conduct a variety of ultrasound examinations according to established guidelines, demonstrating proficiency in unsupervised scanning sessions. Deliver comprehensive ultrasound scanning and reporting services within your defined scope of practice, utilising analytical and judgmental skills to interpret ultrasound images and provide accurate examination reports. Adhere to Trust protocols and policies when working on Trust sites, ensuring compliance and maintaining high standards of practice. Collaborate with referring clinicians and, when necessary, request Radiologist review of reports, reflecting a commitment to continuous professional development. Uphold exceptional patient care in a safe and clean environment, in alignment with organisational and Trust policies. Efficiently manage clinic sessions, working alongside Diagnostic Imaging Assistants to ensure a smooth patient experience. Contribute to the training of other medical staff, including radiographers and medical professionals, as agreed with the Clinical Regional Lead Sonographer. Actively participate in audit and clinical governance activities under the guidance of the Clinical Regional Lead Sonographer. Embrace lifelong learning, consistently engaging in continuing professional development and staying current with developments in medical ultrasound. Maintain personal and professional standards of excellence in ultrasound practice and patient care. Requirements: In-depth clinical knowledge and expertise in medical ultrasound gained through post-graduate qualifications and practical experience. Strong clinical judgment and the ability to make critical decisions based on knowledge, skills, and experience. Proficiency in using patient management databases and PACS systems. PG Cert/Diploma/MSc in Medical Ultrasound with UK CASE Accreditation. HCPC registration. UK NHS experience required. Ability to scan gynae, gen med, small parts, and DVTs. MSK experience desirable. Excellent organisational skills to manage patient flow efficiently while maintaining high-quality care. Ability to navigate unpredictable patient situations with patience and professionalism.
