Are you a skilled and driven Occupational Therapist seeking a chance to excel and advance? Join our client, a facility catering to male patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007) for extended treatment and rehabilitation, offering both low and medium secure services. Additionally, we provide a separate purpose-built environment for our 28-bed male acute service.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in fostering health and independence through the delivery of top-notch occupational therapy assessments and interventions. You'll also provide clinical leadership, supervision, and consultation to our multidisciplinary team.

Your expertise will shine as you demonstrate specialised knowledge and skills in occupational engagement, environmental adaptation, and the development and maintenance of skills essential for meaningful participation. Experience in managing a designated caseload, conducting assessments, devising intervention plans, and assessing outcomes aligned with care plans is crucial.

Your role as an Occupational Therapist will involve:

  • Effective communication with various stakeholders, including clinicians, managers, directors, service users, caregivers, and agencies.
  • Providing supportive leadership to junior staff and overseeing occupational therapy student placements.
  • Assisting junior staff with appraisals and personal development plans.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of relevant policies, protocols, and care pathways.

To succeed as an Occupational Therapist, you'll need:

  • Qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration with the UK HCPC.
  • Extensive post-qualification clinical experience with children and young people with complex needs.
  • Proficiency in applying occupational frames of reference and approaches, demonstrating effective clinical reasoning skills.
  • Specialised knowledge of relevant assessment and treatment models.
