Sanctuary Health has a permanent vacancy for an experienced and dedicated Unit Lead (Registered General Nurse) to work either full-time based in Preston, Lancashire. The ideal candidates will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of General Nursing and be registered with the NMC.

The salary for this permanent Unit Lead role is £36,400 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote high standards of nursing care for you and your team, actively seeking ways to improve levels of service.
  • Assuming the role of nurse-in-charge of the unit whilst on duty although there.
  • Oversee all aspects of medicine management - ensuring medicines are appropriately received, stored and administered to our clients.
  • Ensure that all nursing staff provide an appropriate care plan which is written with the resident and that the resident's progression against these are documented within care notes.
  • Ensure all Care records, risk assessment, audit and any other agreed outcome measures are an integral part of the patients care and that these are monitored and updated on a regular basis.
  • Build the positive reputation of the home and unit - liaise professionally with visitors, including family, friends and other external stakeholders.
  • Undertake regular audits to assess the quality of care given to the patients on his/her presents these findings at Manager's meeting.
  • Provide clinical leadership, positive role modelling to the unit team, ensuring effective communication across the multidisciplinary team, through supervision, mentoring and appraisal.
  • Take a leadership role for your team - ensuring all staff are supervised appropriately and rotas are in place to enable the smooth, efficient running of the business.

  • The post holder will be contracted for 40 hours per week, but we would be looking for someone to be flexible.

Requirements of the Unit Lead:

  • NMC registered as an RGN, RMN, RNLD
  • Degree or equivalent in nursing
  • UK Experience as a registered nurse
