Responsibilities:

  • Support the Clinical Nurse Management team in strategic and operational development following national and regulatory standards.
  • Manage patient care ensuring the highest professional standards using evidence-based care planning.
  • Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect, encouraging independence in daily activities.
  • Support strategic and operational change programs.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational practices, procedures, and policies.
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care following An Bord Altranais guidelines.
  • Provide professional and clinical leadership, maintaining high standards of treatment and care.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory programs including Clinical Governance, Health & Safety, and Risk Management standards.
  • Coordinate, assess, plan, deliver, and review patient/residential care.
  • Collaborate with residents, families, carers, and staff in treatment/care planning and provision.

Requirements:

  • Registered Psychiatric Nurse with An Bord Altranais.
  • 3 years post-registration nursing experience, including 1 year in adult mental health services.
  • Flexibility in covering shifts.
  • Experience in healthcare/hospital settings, including acute mental health care.
  • Clinical experience in palliative care (desirable).
  • Strong managerial, administrative, and clinical competencies.
  • Extensive experience in staff management, budgets, and workforce planning.
  • Knowledge of Mental Health Commission requirements, leadership, and governance.
  • Ability to lead, teach, manage, and participate in practice education.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and statutory regulations.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
