Sanctuary Personnel are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Tissue Viability to join our client's esteemed paediatric team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing specialist expertise in the treatment and management of children and young people with skin conditions and birthmarks, as well as covering tissue viability services for paediatric patients.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Offer expert guidance and support to nursing teams involved in the care of children with skin conditions or undergoing investigations or treatments.
  • Coordinate all aspects of patient care, ensuring the best interests of the child and family are prioritised.
  • Advocate for children and young people undergoing investigations or procedures for laser and dermatology treatment.
  • Develop and participate in patient clinical pathways, particularly for skin conditions/laser treatment.
  • Take charge of patient assessment, care planning, and standards setting in collaboration with the multi-professional team, particularly dermatology consultants.
  • Contribute to the training, education, and development of nursing staff, with a focus on pressure ulcer prevention and specialised care.
  • Assess staff competency in specific clinical practices within the field of expertise.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies related to the Laser/Dermatology/Tissue Viability service.

Skills & Experience:

  • Registered Nurse with a Children’s Nursing Qualification – RN Child or RSCN with valid NMC registration
  • Significant post-registration experience in Children’s nursing
  • Relevant qualification and substantial experience in Tissue Viability
  • Mentorship qualification
  • Basic/Intermediate Paediatric Life Support
  • Level 3 Safeguarding qualification
