An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic General Surgery Team Leader in Bingley. The successful candidate will possess current NMC/HCP registration, demonstrate effective management experience in a similar role, and showcase a proven ability to lead a team while enhancing Urology and General Surgery services. With excellent organisational and communication skills, they will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational activities of the Urology and General Surgical operating lists, ensuring high standards of care for all patients throughout their perioperative phase.

The hospital provides care to patients on an in-patient and day-case basis with five operating theatres, along with Endoscopy and Recovery, offering a wide range of specialties for Private and NHS patients.

To succeed in this role, you should possess a robust clinical background in acute surgical care with demonstrable leadership and personnel management skills. We are looking for a dynamic and positive individual to grow the role as a key part of the hospital, ensuring the Theatre department is Safe, Effective, Responsive, Caring, and Well Led.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the Theatre Manager, fostering excellent working relationships with staff members, consultants, and key stakeholders. They will contribute to driving sustainable excellence in the safety and quality of care and services, supporting the Quality agenda by monitoring achievements against required standards, identifying risks, and recommending/implementing changes for continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will be responsible for proactive monitoring and management of all resources available to the department, including operational budgets, workforce planning, and efficiency of theatre lists, ensuring a safe, caring, responsive, effective, and well-led department.

Essential experience and qualifications for this role:

  • ODP Level 3 / RN (1)
  • Senior-level experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant clinical standards
  • Leadership experience
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Sound computer skills and knowledge
  • Registered member with the NMC/HCP
