Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work full-time in Merton. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Speech and Language Therapy and be registered with the HCPC.
The pay rate for this locum Speech and Language Therapist job is £35 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is on an ongoing contract.
Duties:
- To reflect on auditory, visual and kinaesthetic aspects of client's communication and to identify appropriate strategies to facilitate and enhance communicative effectiveness.
- To communicate complex condition related information from assessment to clients, carers, families and members of the multi-disciplinary team/other professions.
- To work closely with clients, carers and families, demonstrating empathy and forming productive relationships and agreeing decision making relevant to the patient/client management.
- To evaluate client intervention and rehabilitation progress using appropriate outcome measure and evaluation tools.
- To employ excellent communication skills to ensure that effective communication is achieved and develop skills in motivating clients and /or carers to engage in the therapeutic process.
- To provide specialist advice to others regarding the management and care of adults with learning disabilities and a range of complex needs including communication difficulties and challenging behaviour.
Requirements of the Speech and Language Therapist:
- Degree or equivalent within Speech and Language Therapist
- HCPC registered as a Speech and Language Therapist
- Recent post qualifying experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist
