Main Duties:
- To provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessment, differential diagnosis, and treatment for adults with communication and swallowing disorders due to neurological impairments or following stroke.
- To provide specialist education, training and advice to patients, carers, SLT colleagues, other health care professionals, students, and voluntary organisations.
- To work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure inter-professional patient care for patients with stroke on the Neurosciences Unit, including the hyper and acute stroke units.
- To be involved in undertaking audit and contributing to research in Neurosciences.
- To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service.
Requirements of the Speech and Language Therapist/SLT:
- Degree or equivalent within Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration
- Recent UK/NHS post qualifying experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist
