Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Staff Nurse to join our Adult Community Services team. As a Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for coordinating the management of the ward in the absence of another Registered Nurse, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our service users. Your role will involve assisting individuals with their daily living activities, tailoring care plans to meet their unique needs, and upholding the highest standards of dignity and compassion. Additionally, you will act as a practice assessor/supervisor to junior staff and may take on additional responsibilities to support the senior staff within the team.

Summary of Practice Area:

Our Adult Community Services comprise four wards, each dedicated to providing person-centered care for individuals with specialised needs. These include residents over the age of 70 and those requiring support for dementia or complex medical conditions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating care programs for older adults.
  • Providing prescribed nursing care autonomously and initiating emergency interventions as necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate records of care provided and adhering to professional codes of conduct.
  • Participating in team collaboration, supporting colleagues and service users' families.
  • Coordinating complex discharge arrangements and communicating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensuring health and safety standards are upheld, including safe medication management and reporting of incidents.

Key Criteria:

Essential:

  • Registered General Nurse or Registered Mental Health Nurse (depending on the ward).
  • Degree/Diploma in a related field.
  • Experience in providing compassionate care and support.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Leadership qualities and willingness to assist in staff development.
  • Physical fitness to meet the demands of the role.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working with older people.
