Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Staff Nurse to join our dynamic team. As a Staff Nurse, you will undertake a diverse range of responsibilities aimed at providing high-quality care within a multidisciplinary framework. Your role will involve close collaboration with team members while also demonstrating autonomy when necessary. Effective communication, empathy, and adherence to established policies and procedures are essential in this clinical setting.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate care programs.
  • Independently initiate emergency interventions as required.
  • Provide nursing care within the scope of expertise, seeking guidance when needed.
  • Actively participate as a team member, providing support to patients, relatives, and colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with standards.
  • Adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff, multidisciplinary teams, and related agencies.
  • Practice evidence-based care.

Training and Education:

  • Contribute to the development of care philosophy and training.
  • Undertake annual mandatory training and act as a health promoter for patients and families.
  • Develop skills to support evidence-based practice.
  • Participate in clinical supervision.
  • Assist in the education and assessment of junior staff.
  • Mentor junior staff if appropriately qualified.

Leadership/Managerial:

  • Gain experience in providing leadership under the guidance of the team leader.

Communication:

  • Coordinate complex discharge arrangements through effective communication.
  • Consider language and cultural differences in communication.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and significant others, including those in challenging situations.

Audit/Information Technology:

  • Participate in clinical audit.
  • Access relevant organisational electronic information systems with appropriate training.

Essential:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse.
  • Motivation for service improvement and development.
  • Willingness to engage in care enhancement projects and audits.
  • Ability to lead in service user care coordination.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiasm, motivation, and initiative.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to ensure 24-hour service delivery.
