Sanctuary Personnel is currently looking for an experienced Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse (CPN) to take on a new ongoing contract role. 

Location: Banbury

Contract Type: Locum, 3-month contract

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. Monday - Friday. 09:00 am - 17:00 pm. 

Pay Rates:

  • Days - £31.17 p/h
  • Saturdays/Nights - £40.11 p/h
  • Sundays/Bank Holidays - £49.04 p/h

Duties:

  • Help people to focus on achievable goals and access local community resources
  • Contribute to delivering the primary care mental health service model
  • The provision of integrated physical and mental health care in a designated Primary Care Network within Oxfordshire
  • Work as part of the MDT to support and advise the Primary Care Team in triage, assessment and treatment of patients needing mental health support
  • Accept referrals direct from primary care via an agreed route, promote early assessment / treatment, and ensure robust relationships and links with other community-based services
  • Work with adults (18+) with severe / significant mental illness, whose mental health needs can be best met within primary care and whose difficulties are best understood within a biopsychosocial model
  • Work closely with colleagues in specialist community mental health services to ensure smooth transitions between teams and services and facilitate an ‘easy in, easy out’ approach to improve access to evidence-based intervention
  • Facilitate mental health and ‘strengths - based’ assessments in primary care and support the Primary Care Team in accessing appropriate level of services
  • Supervise and support junior colleagues within the team

Requirements of the Community Mental Health Nurse:

  • Current professional registration: Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist (Mandatory)
  • Post graduate education specifically relating to client group (Desirable)
  • Community experience in mental health services for adults and older adults with severe/significant mental illness (Essential)
  • Experience of working in primary and secondary mental health services (Desirable)
  • Specialist knowledge of person-centred care and its application (Essential)
  • Specialist knowledge of psychosocial interventions and their appropriate use (Essential)
  • Understanding of the mental health needs of adults (Essential)
