Job Overview

As a Registered Midwife, you'll be responsible for delivering comprehensive midwifery care, adhering to established protocols and guidelines. Whether in the hospital or community setting, you'll provide leadership, mentorship, and compassionate care to women and their families throughout the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic midwifery care, ensuring the well-being of women and their families.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to address deviations from the norm and promote positive outcomes.
  • Act as a mentor, providing guidance and supervision to staff.
  • Demonstrate autonomy within professional practice boundaries.
  • Foster effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Uphold statutory responsibilities, including safeguarding and confidentiality.
  • Contribute to continuous professional development and revalidation activities.
  • Maintain professionalism and adhere to ethical standards at all times.

Person Specification

Education / Qualifications

  • Essential: Registered Midwife (2 years post qualifying experience), evidence of professional development.
  • Desirable: Degree/Diploma, Car driver, Neonatal Life Support.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Essential: Understanding of NMC role, professional responsibilities, Code of Practice, clinical governance, evidence-based practice, child protection.
  • Desirable: Mentorship module, competence in specific clinical skills.
