Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking an Integrated Midwife for a rewarding opportunity within a healthcare setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing autonomous, evidence-based, women-centered midwifery care. This position offers the chance to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, various agencies, representatives, and service users. The integrated midwife will work across both ward and community services, covering day and night shifts within a rota period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver midwifery care throughout the pregnancy continuum, either in the maternity unit or community setting, to women and babies.
  • Coordinate and maintain a high standard of evidence-based practice for all families in the community caseload.
  • Participate in on-call rotas for the maternity unit.

Requirements:

  • Registered Midwife
  • Previous UK experience working as a Midwife

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the woman's advocate in delivering the highest standard of midwifery care.
  • Develop flexible, high-quality individual models of care.
  • Assess the woman's physical, psychological, and spiritual needs using evidence-based practice.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in accordance with standards.
  • Monitor the woman's condition and take appropriate action as needed.
  • Keep the woman and her family informed while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ensure flexible midwifery care to meet diverse needs.
  • Comply with policies for medication management.
  • Undertake relevant clinical skills and interventions.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and service providers.

Organisation, Management, and Leadership:

  • Act as a role model in service user care.
  • Participate in team working and practice development.
  • Contribute to the development of maternity policies and guidelines.
  • Work with the management team to develop services for midwifery provision.
  • Assist in professional development and training for the midwifery team.

Training and Education:

  • Participate in audit programs and utilise research for service development.
  • Undertake statutory training and promote professional development.
  • Act as a mentor/preceptor to learners in the clinical area.
  • Maintain competence in relevant skills and emergency procedures.

Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with patients/clients and their significant others.
  • Provide unbiased, evidence-based information to facilitate informed choice.
  • Maintain effective communication within the team and with management.
  • Act as an advocate for patients/clients and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with communication standards.

Infection Control:

  • Comply with infection control measures and waste disposal policies.
  • Clean and disinfect equipment as necessary.

Evidence-Based Care, Quality, and Standards:

  • Keep up-to-date with specialty trends and ensure evidence-based practice.
  • Participate in setting and evaluating care standards.
  • Manage clinical risks and participate in incident reporting and audits.
  • Maintain professionalism and dignity in all interactions.
  • Use information technology to improve practice.

Legal and Professional Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Provide a safe environment and cooperate with statutory requirements.
  • Maintain registration and comply with professional standards.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and stay informed about legal matters.
