We are currently seeking a Chief Cardiac Physiologist to join our team based in Weston-Super-Mare on a permanent, full-time basis. The salary for this role is £47,000 - £52,000 per annum. 

As a Chief Cardiac Physiologist, you will demonstrate proficiency in adhering to reporting guidelines, providing a secure and welcoming clinical environment for patients. This role offers the opportunity to mentor and support trainee physiologists and actively participate in our clinical audit program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and report adult trans-thoracic echocardiograms in accordance with recognised standards.
  • Provide expert clinical guidance through our second opinion rota, ensuring compliance with reporting guidelines during clinical peer-review.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on equipment and take appropriate action.
  • Submit reports and archive study images in line with contractual requirements and local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Collaborate with relevant hospital departments and GP practices for urgent clinical referrals.
  • Support patient bookings, ensuring the maintenance of patient information systems.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in performing and reporting adult transthoracic echocardiograms to recognized standards.
  • BSE (or equivalent) qualification.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Full understanding of the implications of the Data Protection Act, Information Governance Statement of Compliance, and Caldicott Principles.
  • Willingness to embrace new thinking and technologies.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
