Sanctuary Personnel are recruiting for three exciting opportunities within our client's Adult Mental Health Services for motivated and enthusiastic Registered Mental Health Nurses to join our multi-disciplinary teams as Charge Nurses. These roles involve working on a ward with excellent staff-to-patient ratios, embracing MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) working principles, and contributing to the opening of a new Article 36 suite (equivalent to the UK's section 136 suite under the Jersey Mental Health Law 2016).

Job Purpose

This role involves planning and delivering effective and competent levels of care across acute and community services. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure continuity in patient care, acting as a role model for colleagues, patients, and relatives. Supervising the care given by Healthcare Assistants and providing guidance and training are also key aspects of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Operate across a range of clinical areas including rotational duties as senior nurse for the Article 36 suite.
  • Support the ward manager in various clinical and managerial responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate the application of research and evidence to promote best practices and ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Assess, plan, and implement care for high-risk individuals within an inpatient setting.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to less experienced staff.

Requirements

  • 1st Level Registered Mental Health Nurse with at least 2 years of recent experience in this specialist area.
  • NMC registration
  • Experience across acute adult, acute older adult, and dementia assessment wards is desirable.

Knowledge & Experience

  • 2 years post-qualification experience in general nursing.
  • Thorough knowledge of the NMC Code (2015).

  • Excellent communication and team-working skills.
  • Basic keyboard skills.
  • Ability to manage risks and complaints.
