Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner Pay Rate: £22 per hour (assignment rate)

Job Duties:

  • Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.
  • Assess and support people with a common mental health problem in the self management of their recovery.
  • Undertake centred interviews which identifies areas where the person wishes to see change and or recovery and makes an accurate assessment of risk to self and others.
  • Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department’s referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary or steps-ups the persons treatment to high intensity.
  • Provide a range of information and support for evidence based high volume low – intensity psychological treatments.
  • Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service.
  • Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach.
  • Work within the IAPT service providing high volume low intensity interventions which will be a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self management interventions to service to clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.
  • Assess and integrate issues surrounding work and employment into the overall therapy process
  • Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate.
  • Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.

Requirements of the Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner:

  • Psychologists must be registered and accredited members of the BACP. (Registered Member MBACP (Accred) or Registered Member MBACP (Snr Accred))
  • Recent UK experience working as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner/PWP
  • Have an IAPT Qualification
  • You will be required to take reasonable care of the health and safety of him/her acts or omissions at work, and co-operate with Berkshire Healthcare NHS trust to ensure that statutory and departmental safety regulations are adhered to.
  • The post holder is at all times expected to carry out their duties in accordance with the Trusts Equal Opportunities Policy
  • There will be an expectation to carry out other duties which may ber requested by the line manager in order to facilitate the smooth running of the hospital.
