Sanctuary Personal are looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Valuer to join our team in Swindon.

The successful candidate will play a key role in provideing a comprehensive property service to the Council covering the management of commercial property portfolio as well as the acquisition and disposal of land and buildings.

The rate of pay for this role is £25+ P/H.

Responsibilities:

- Provide Professional advice, input and management of the residential (excluding Council housing), retail, commercial and industrial property and in particular the management of District and Local Shopping Centres.

- Manage staff working to the postholder through procedural control including key result areas and development and staff appraisal techniques. Allocate cases, and give guidance, supervise, direct as well as ensure completion of assigned cases. Assess/identify, monitor and supervise the professional training needs of the staff working to the postholder

- Ensure that valuation work undertaken by staff working to the postholder is in accordance with the Statutory Code and CIPFA and RICS Practice Statements and Guidance Notes and is in compliance with the Council's standing orders, financial regulations, codes and practices as well as the Division's office procedures and ISO Quality Standards and statements.

- Assess and undertake the leasing and renewal of leases of primarily retail, commercial, industrial and non-operational property.

- Maximise opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Council’s property portfolio including negotiating the disposal of land/property interests (both long leasehold and freehold) for development purposes by tender and private treaty, including where appropriate detailed joint venture initiatives with the private sector.

 

Requirements:

- Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role

- Educated to degree level or equivalent 

- Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse groups of people

- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

- Experience of dealing with commercial and residential development.

- Full driving licence.
