Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking a dedicated Senior Staff Nurse to join the team at a prestigious hospital in London. This full-time, permanent position offers 37.5 hours per week with flexible shift patterns including long days, nights, and weekends. The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at this facility is modern and well-equipped, with a specialised team of Consultant Paediatric Intensivists available around the clock to support the delivery of high-quality care.

We are offering an additional £3,000 per annum for candidates with PICU qualifications, and for a limited time, a £10,000 welcome bonus is available for successful candidates (terms and conditions apply).

Duties:

  • Take responsibility for the unit in the absence of the Sister/Charge nurse 
  • Co-ordinate patient care with the multidisciplinary team
  • Manage allocated resources effectively and efficiently
  • Ensure documentation is completed accurately and within agreed timescales
  • Ensure the provision of appropriate mentors for student nurses and provide a supportive and challenging environment for students in training
  • Ensure that tailored care plans are in place for all patients in the designated clinical area. 

Key qualifications and experience required for this role include:

  • NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with immediate paediatric life support
  • Postgraduate experience in a PICU setting
  • Understanding of safeguarding issues
  • Teaching and mentoring experience (desirable)
  • Completion of a PICU Course equivalent to 60 credits
  • Excellent clinical governance and experience with audits
  • Experience supervising and assessing students and leading shifts (desirable)
