Sanctuary Personnel is currently recruiting for a Senior Staff Nurse for a permanent position with our client in Guernsey. 

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Senior Staff Nurse to join a dedicated team, providing exceptional care to high dependency and critically ill patients during allocated shifts. You will collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, offering support and guidance to patients, their families, and colleagues.

The successful candidate will deliver tailored patient care according to best practices, utilising a strong theoretical understanding of acute physiological needs. This includes expertise in ventilation, sepsis management, renal replacement therapy, and acute cardiac interventions, in line with National Critical Care Competencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care to critically ill patients during assigned shifts, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualised care programmes for critically ill patients.
  • Initiate urgent interventions autonomously, responding appropriately to changes in patient status.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper records of care provided, adhering to professional standards and guidelines.
  • Act as a role model for junior nursing staff, contributing to the enhancement of High Dependency and Critical Care initiatives.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and liaison with nursing colleagues, multidisciplinary teams, and external agencies.
  • Administer emergency interventions in accordance with Resuscitation Council UK guidelines and Advanced Life Support protocols.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration.
  • Significant experience in critical care nursing, including high dependency and intensive care settings.
  • Demonstrated expertise in ventilation, sepsis management, renal replacement therapy, and acute cardiac interventions.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and autonomously.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
