Pay Rate: £275 - £350 per day

Contract Length: Initial contrcat is 3 months

Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Main Duties of the SEN Case officer:

  • Contribute to Local Authority initiatives concerning Education Health and Care Needs Assessment and Review processes for Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND)/LDD. This involves meticulous composition and review of Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans, and active participation in collaborative efforts with parents, schools, health, social care, and other SEND professionals.
  • Facilitate the advancement of identified pupils spanning the SEND spectrum towards achieving predefined Outcomes in their EHC Plans and Annual Review targets.
  • Offer expert guidance on implementing EHC Plan provisions within the parameters of early years, school, or college curricula, including relevant assessment and reporting frameworks.
  • Support seamless transitions to Post-16 education, engaging with service providers and aiding in the allocation of placements across various settings. This includes coordinating with partners to identify appropriate financial contributions.
  • Serve as the designated focal point and advisor for parents/carers, early years providers, schools, colleges, and pertinent agencies.
  • Proactively collaborate with providers and colleagues to ensure optimal educational outcomes for children and young people with EHC Plans. Provide tailored assistance and counsel to early years providers, school/college personnel, and SEN/school improvement professionals as required.

 Requirements of the SEN Case officer:

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a comparable role within a local authority environment.
  • Demonstrated eligibility to work and reside in the UK. Must possess a current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and provide two professional references.
  • Possession of a valid UK driving license with a clean record, enabling independent commuting to and from the workplace.
