Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Children’s Proceedings Case Manager to work Full Time based in Guernsey.

The salary for this permanent Children’s Proceedings Case Manager job is up to £71,865per annum.

Main duties:

  • To support Social Workers and Managers in direct effective, high quality case preparation for Court and CYCT.
  • To meet with Social Workers and Managers to offer guidance and mentoring to improve the quality of reports for Court and the CYCT and to ensure they are fit for purpose, this will include some Quality Assurance work.
  • To work with teams across the service to ensure they understand what progression is required for each case and work with all parties involved to chase progress against directions and protocol.
  • To provide advice and support in the instruction of expert witnesses in family proceedings to include establishing and maintaining a directory of experts; advising on Letters of Instruction; liaising with partners as to their instruction, track progress and deadlines, establish systems to ensure that experts are only instructed when necessary and are instructed at the most appropriate point, and to ensure any expenditure is necessary and proportionate.
  • To manage information relating to family proceedings to include case tracking to ensure effective identification of delays and/or issuing proceedings. This will include attending monthly Legal Tracking Meetings.
  • To implement a process of escalation of concern regarding to drift to the Service Manager, Safeguarding and Permanence, relevant Team Managers, and where appropriate Associate Director.
  • To facilitate and chair key meetings such as the Legal Practice Meeting on a regular basis to assist in the dissemination of information across the Service, promote learning and sharing of information.
  • To attend relevant meetings with partners in the family justice system to represent the Service and to share learning to inform service development and training needs, as well as maintaining links with the Legal Advisors through attending fortnightly Child Care Meetings and bi-monthly meetings with CYCT.
  • To keep updated in terms of personal development around research training, tools for Social Work Practice and contribute to HSC’s library resource of information and good examples.

Requirements of this Children’s Proceedings Case Manager role:

  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
