Shift Pattern: This is a full-time position with shift work (fully rotational), totaling 76 hours per fortnight. Part-time hours may be considered, and negotiations are possible with the successful applicant.
Salary: $69,835 - $96,428 per annum + 11% superannuation

Our client is amidst an innovative reform, featuring a tri-agency service to address emergency mental health crises, hospital in the home, community-based treatment beds, Safe Haven, an integration hub with enhanced service connectivity and support, Recovery College, CAMHS, alcohol and drugs, and older persons service reforms. Duties:

As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality mental health services, the Registered Nurse will:

  • Work collaboratively with consumers, families, or carers to plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based, person-centred, and trauma-informed nursing care.
  • Be an active member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), conducting biopsychosocial assessments, engaging therapeutically, monitoring mental state and treatment responses, and updating care plans.
  • Evaluate nursing strategies' effectiveness, participate in organisational documentation development, and ensure compliance with standards and policies.
  • Complete clinical documentation within specified timeframes, primarily via electronic records systems.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement activities to advance nursing practice.

The Role:

  • Collaborate with consumers, families, or carers to provide evidence-based, person-centred, and trauma-informed nursing care.
  • Be an active member of the MDT, conducting assessments, engaging therapeutically, and updating care plans.
  • Evaluate nursing strategies, contribute to organisational documentation, and ensure compliance with best practices.

Salary:

  • $69,835 - $96,428 per annum + 11% superannuation
  • Access to the Grade 4 salary range $90,293 - $96,428 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award 2019.

In addition, the following allowances may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type.
  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $750 per annum.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current Driver’s Licence (where required for community-based services).

Desirable criteria include:

  • Possession or working towards a specialist mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification.
  • Completion of a hospital-based training program resulting in previous registration as a psychiatric nurse.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted, including conviction, identification, and disciplinary action in previous employment checks.
