Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Clinical/Forensic Psychologist/Senior Psychologist to work full-time based in Leeds.

The pay rate for this locum Clinical Psychologist job is £45 per hour (Assignment rate) and is a 3-month contract.

Main Duties:

  • As postholder of this role you will be involved in both assessment and treatment, including the use of structured risk assessment measures and one-to-one and group-based interventions relating to a range of needs such as sexual and violent offending, fire-setting, problem solving, substance misuse and anger management.
  • Approaches used within individual therapy will largely employ a CBT approach, though opportunities also exist in relation to other models depending upon interest and experience, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Radically Open Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Analytical Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and EMDR.
  • As part of a multi-disciplinary team you will assist with the development, delivery and evaluation of the evidence-based interventions across both sites, in order to comply with best practice principles.
  • Your role will also incorporate staff training, staff formulation and de-brief sessions, research, and supervision of other staff, including members of the Psychology Department and teams of programme facilitators.
  • You will have the ability to apply psychological knowledge to a psychiatric setting, adopting a systematic approach and responding flexibly to both the treatment requirements of mentally disordered individuals and the complexities associated with organisational settings.

Requirements of the Clinical Psychologist:

  • To be eligible for this role you must be an HCPC registered psychologist, have a relevant qualification and recent experience is essential.
  • Ideally with NHS background
  • Requires to have experience working with complex patients in secure or locked settings.
  • Experience of working with autism spectrum disorder would be of further benefit.
  • Experience of working with patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) is advantageous.
