Job Title: Staff Nurse (Band 5) CAMHS Eating Disorders

Job Summary:

Join our dynamic team in Sutton Coldfield, as a Staff Nurse (Band 5) specialising in CAMHS Eating Disorders. As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in supporting young people on their journey to recovery from eating disorders. Your responsibilities will include providing clinical care to inpatients based on prescribed treatment plans, utilising evidence-based practices. Collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, employing a patient-centered approach, and involving families in care planning are key aspects of this role.

Key Accountabilities:

Clinical:

  • Adhere to NICE guidelines for the treatment of eating disorders and Junior Marzipan guidelines.
  • Follow the requirements of the Mental Health Act and Children Act.
  • Contribute to highly specialist assessments of eating disorders in young people.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients.
  • Assist in developing, co-facilitating, and staffing therapeutic groups.
  • Maintain respectful relationships with carers and family members.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Manage the implementation of therapeutic meal provision.
  • Safely store and administer medicines and clinical equipment.
  • Demonstrate awareness of safeguarding principles in dealings with young people and their families.

Requirements: 

Educational Qualifications:

  • RMN, and nurse-specific training.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.

Skills:

  • Skills in clinical risk assessment.
  • Ability to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to ensure safe practice.
  • Ability to contribute towards colleague induction, mentorship, and support of other colleagues.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Mental Health Act and Children Act.
  • Knowledge of NICE guidelines for the treatment of eating disorders.
  • Knowledge of Junior Marzipan guidelines for the treatment of eating disorders.
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding legislation and practice.
  • Knowledge of eating disorder treatments (desirable).

Experience:

  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience in coordinating the various contributions of other team members (desirable).
  • Experience with an electronic patient record system (desirable).
