Sanctuary Executive is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Interim Strategic Partnerships Manager to work on a full-time basis based in Brent.

The pay rate for this locum Interim Strategic Partnerships Manager job is £450 per day.

Role Purpose:

  • Provide high level policy advice and integrated support for Brent's strategic partnership boards: Partners for Brent, Health and Wellbeing Board, Brent Children's Trust, Brent Safeguarding Children Executive Group, Safeguarding Children Forum and, Local Adults Safeguarding Board (SAB), Pensioner's Forum and Disability Forum.
  • Provide leadership to achieve high performance and effective operational delivery, including the effective use of resources and staff.
  • You will also be expected to manage staff or small teams in other portfolio areas when required.

Main Duties:

  • Lead the development of a joined up approach to strategic partnerships including joining up outputs of boards and forums to maximise impact for the Council and partners and ensure the effective achievement of outcomes
  • Providing strategic high level advice to the chair or convenor of each partnership in relation to agenda planning, commissioning of reports, briefing and management of the partnerships work programme. This includes quality assuring and monitoring outputs and actions to ensure statutory compliance and alignment with the ambitions of the partnerships.
  • Managing two independent multi-agency budgets (combined £500,000 minimum) for Brent's safeguarding children oversight arrangements (which consist of the Safeguarding Children Executive Group and Safeguarding Children Forum) and SAB which includes motivating partners to contribute or increase contributions where there is a business need and ensuring full transparency and accountability for expenditure to all partners. This also includes making strategic spending decisions which allow the safeguarding children oversight arrangements and SAB to effectively fulfil their statutory duties, undertake community engagement and awareness raising work across the partnerships' workforce.
  • Overseeing, planning for and ensuring sufficient resourcing and support is accorded to each partnership and underpinning partners. This includes regularly evaluating resources and adjusting support given to boards according to business need. This includes securing officer resources from other relevant teams.

Requirements of the Interim Strategic Partnerships Manager:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience in a health related settings
  • Evidence of significant relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Knowledge of legislative provisions and statutory guidance relating to safeguarding children and adults and the consequent responsibilities of local authorities and their partners.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging agendas facing safeguarding and community safety partnerships.
  • Knowledge of local government decision-making, service planning, consultation and budget preparation.
  • Sound understanding of equality and diversity issues.
