Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Strategic Commissioner to work full time based in Haringey.

The salary for this permanent Strategic Commissioner job is up to £61,491 per annum.

Main duties:

  • Provides the strategic management that offers a strong sense of purpose for the commissioned services, ensuring compliance with the relevant statutory and legislative framework.
  • Acts as key member of the Children’s Commissioning Leadership Team, driving cultural change and new ways of working and representing and promoting the reputation of the service within the Council.
  • To be the strategic Business Commissioner within Children’s Commissioning, providing the strategic leadership ensuring the performance management of the commissioned services, data analytics and reporting, payments systems and processes and the monitoring and evaluation of the commissioned services.
  • As the Strategic Lead and Senior Commissioner hold the responsibility for the commissioned and de-commissioning of services.
  • Develop and implement strategies that transform the management and quality of the children’s directorate and securing significant with sustained improvements for children, young people and families.
  • Develop, write and implement strategic commissioning plans and make/recommend decisions to meet the identified needs of children and their families.
  • To lead on the development and implementation of the directorate’s business Service standards, outlining expectations and ways of working ensuring responsibility and accountability.
  • To lead on and ensure the monitoring, analysis and reporting of all Children Strategic Commissioning performance indicators and present findings to the directorate’s management team, corporate management and elected members.
  • Ensures an appropriate balance between business-specific and holistic needs, working with colleague children’s commissioning managers, commissioning stakeholders and partners, to make sense of challenges that span directorate boundaries, and designing and implementing high quality solutions.
  • To provide leadership and management of the service, leading and managing and being accountable for the day-to-day management and operations of the Senior Commissioning Officer, Commissioning Officers and Quality Assurance Contract Officers,
  • To undertake any other temporary responsibilities aligned with the overall purpose and grade of the role.

Requirements of this role:

  • Social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in managing social work caseloads and supervising others.
  • Experience of community and/or group work.
  • Knowledge of children’s health and social care systems, agencies, and relevant legislation.
