Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Children’s Team Leader to work full time based in a Children’s home in Guernsey.

The salary for this permanent Team Leader job is up to £39,560

Main Duties:

  • Assess, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care
  • Autonomously initiate emergency interventions as service user’s condition dictates
  • Provide planned care without supervision, within the level of the post-holder’s experience, referring to a more senior staff member when necessary
  • Participate as a team member supporting relatives and friends of patients/clients
  • together with providing support for other patients/clients
  • Maintain accurate records, both electronic and paper, of the care given in accordance with agreed standards
  • Act in accordance with the standards, codes and guidelines laid down by the potholder’s regulatory body and adhere to HSC policy and procedure
  • Independently liaise and communicate effectively with members of the multidisciplinary team and other associated agencies
  • Within sphere of responsibility purchase goods and services as deemed appropriate to the needs of the service users and the maintenance of the environment in which they reside
  • Participate in contributing to the continuing development of the department’s philosophy, training/education
  • Undertake in-house annual mandatory training in that is deemed essential to the role
  • Undertake the role of health promoter and educator for service users and their families/significant others
  • Maintain and develop own skills to promote evidence-based practice within field of practice
  • Participate in clinical supervision
  • Assist in the learning, development and assessment of unqualified staff, junior staff and adaptation nurses
  • Liaison with line manager, gain experience in providing leadership to junior staff
  • Co-ordinate complex care arrangements through communication with multidisciplinary team members and associated agencies
  • Give due consideration to language and cultural differences of service users, their significant others and colleagues

Requirements of this job:

  • Registered Health or Social Care Professional e.g. Nurse, Speech and Language Therapist,
  • OT, Registered Behaviour Technician or Social Worker
  • VQ Assessor or BTEC Assessor training
  • Ability to show leadership skills
  • Experience of managing budgets
  • Direct involvement in Ofsted inspections
