Job Purpose:

Sanctuary Personnel are seeking a dedicated Teacher to actively pursue the aims of our client's school and wider Trust, maintaining an exceptional standard of education and care for our pupils. You will uphold professionalism in all duties, ensuring every student receives a good or better education and fostering continuous improvement in teaching and learning. Your role will involve implementing a diverse and tailored curriculum, supporting students in reaching their full potential, and contributing to their overall progress and development.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

Strategic:

  • Collaborate in developing specifications, resources, and teaching strategies.
  • Contribute to Academy-wide planning activities and development plans.
  • Ensure high standards of lesson planning and delivery.
  • Participate in curriculum development to align with student needs and strategic goals.
  • Engage in departmental policy-making and development.

Staff Development:

  • Actively participate in staff development programs and training opportunities.
  • Engage in the Performance Management process to enhance teaching effectiveness.
  • Pursue personal development in relevant areas, including subject knowledge and teaching methods.
  • Ensure effective deployment of classroom support and foster positive teamwork.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement quality assurance procedures and adhere to policies.
  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of the curriculum area.
  • Review teaching methods and programs under the direction of the Subject Leader.
  • Participate in curriculum, organisational, and pastoral activities.

Management of Data / Information:

  • Maintain accurate records and provide relevant information as required.
  • Track student progress and use data to inform teaching strategies.

Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with parents and external stakeholders.
  • Follow agreed communication policies.
  • Participate in liaison activities and develop subject links with external agencies.

Resources:

  • Contribute to resource ordering and allocation.
  • Identify resource needs and ensure efficient usage.

Teaching:

  • Tailor teaching to meet individual student needs.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress.
  • Use varied teaching methods to stimulate learning.
  • Maintain appropriate behavior standards and encourage student achievement.
  • Dress professionally and adhere to teaching protocols.

Personal Responsibilities:

  • Support the Academy's vision, aims, and values.
  • Promote Academy policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Qualification:

  • Attainment of a commendable degree or its equivalent.

Certification:

  • Possession of Qualified Teacher Status.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Effective teaching across diverse ability levels, encompassing KS3 to KS4, with potential for A-level instruction.
  • Thorough familiarity with National Curriculum requirements in the subject.
  • Proficiency in lesson planning, setting appropriate learning expectations.
  • Skill in assessing and guiding student work, providing constructive feedback and progress reports.
  • Experience across multiple educational settings and as a Form Tutor.
  • Ability to teach additional subjects and high ICT competency.
