Pay Rate: £24.66 per hour

Contract Length: Initial contract is 12 months

Working Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm. There will be some home working but this role is not completely remote.

The role:
We are looking to appoint a Migrant Locality Worker for our client to contribute to and apply the Council’s strategy to support vulnerable children and families, with a priority including migrant children & to ensure service is delivered in line with Oxfordshire’s principles and values of working with partners, children, and families.

Key Responsibilities of the Migrant Locality Worker:

  • To act as a named link worker to schools/Early Years Settings and health settings within a locality. Offering advice and support on delivering Early Help and improving outcomes for children and their families via regular visits/review meetings.
  • To provide named conversations to locality settings/partners to discuss Strengths & Needs, Team Around Family Meetings, and give information on other supports in the community for a particular child/ren.
  • To review all received Strengths & Needs from partners to ensure SMART outcomes for child(ren) – offering advice/resource suggestions at point of contact.
  • To develop a good understanding of the services provided within the locality, including schools, health services, support groups and activities available to children, young people and families.
  • To develop and maintain a network of professionals from services that support children, young people and families.  Leading on Community Around the School/Setting meetings when needed to ensure contextual safeguarding approaches in place within the locality.

Applicant Requirements of the Migrant Locality Worker:

  • Professional Qualification at Level 4 or above (e.g. NVQ 4, BTEC prof award, BA Degree, HNC etc.)
  • 1+ year of experience within a similar role.
  • Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS and 2 x references.
  • Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
