Pay Rate: £15.64 - £20.48 per hour (assignment rate)

Contract: Locum, 3-Months

Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am - 4pm.

Main Duties:

  • Share responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children under your care and those you interact with.
  • Undertake child protection training relevant to your role.
  • Collaborate with lead practitioners and senior staff to contribute to the creation and maintenance of developmentally appropriate, play-based provision for young children, fostering their emotional stability, independence, autonomy, and creativity.
  • Foster positive relationships and close partnerships with professionals in the children’s center to ensure access to integrated services for families and children, supporting a multidisciplinary approach. This may involve utilizing common assessment frameworks (CAF) and participating in Team around the Child (TAC) meetings under the guidance of senior practitioners.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with parents, valuing their involvement in their child’s education, including supporting home learning and facilitating smooth transitions within and out of the setting.
  • Develop and implement positive behavior strategies for children.
  • Attend relevant Continuous Professional Development (CPD) sessions, sharing acquired knowledge and ideas with colleagues.
  • Uphold principles of inclusion and equal opportunities, supporting early intervention strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of relevant policies and procedures within the setting.

Requirements of the Qualified Early Years Nursery Education Worker:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in childcare/early years practice, such as NNEB Certificate, NVQ Level 3 in Childcare/Early Years Care, BTEC Nationals in Childhood Studies, or equivalent, with relevant practice placements.
  • Demonstrated ability to safeguard and promote children's welfare, create a safe learning environment, and identify signs of danger or risk of abuse.
  • Must be eligible to work and reside in the UK. Provide current DBS check and references covering the last 5 years.
