Role Overview:

As the Occupational Therapy (OT) Service Lead, you will assume responsibility for delivering clinical, professional, and operational leadership within our esteemed healthcare environment. Collaborating closely with the Therapy Services Manager, you will ensure that Occupational Therapy services align seamlessly with objectives. Integral to your role is fostering integration across multi-disciplinary teams to enhance patient care delivery. Moreover, you will be instrumental in providing advanced OT assessment, treatment, and management services, upholding the highest standards of practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to local and national standards and clinical governance requirements, including COT Standards for Practice and Code of Ethics.

  • Collaborate with fellow Service Leads in Occupational Therapy, carrying portfolio service responsibilities across all specialties.

  • Spearhead the development, implementation, and review of local policies and procedures to enhance OT service quality.

  • Serve as a repository of knowledge and expertise in Occupational Therapy Services, providing guidance to colleagues and stakeholders.

  • Oversee the day-to-day delivery of occupational therapy services, ensuring efficiency and efficacy.

  • Conduct regular clinical audits and research to drive service improvement initiatives.

  • Manage the OT team, providing clinical supervision and fostering a culture of excellence.

  • Identify and address professional and operational issues at a strategic level, proposing service development initiatives.

  • Act as a specialist resource on Occupational Therapy, offering support and advice to various stakeholders.

  • Conduct specialist clinical assessments as required, such as Sensory assessments.

  • Lead site service quality improvement initiatives and participate in investigations and Quality monitoring assurance objectives.

  • Allocate and prioritise workload for OT staff, ensuring optimal resource utilisation.

  • Drive changes in work structures and patterns within the OT team, employing effective communication and change management strategies.

  • Oversee the appraisal process for the team, ensuring adherence to Priory's procedures.

  • Lead recruitment efforts for OT staff vacancies, from advertising to selection.

  • Direct and motivate staff through training and developmental activities.

  • Supervise student placements within the OT team.

  • Manage identified budget responsibilities related to the role, ensuring prudent financial management.

  • Represent Occupational Therapy at Clinical Governance meetings.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent within Occupational Therapy

  • HCPC registration

  • Previous UK Occupational Therapy experience
