Sanctuary Personnel, an award-winning and renowned Recruitment Agency is looking for an experienced and dedicated Junior Doctor to work based in Leicester.
The salary for this permanent Junior Doctor job is £70,000 per annum.
Duties:
- Contribute to providing a safe and secure environment and will treat patients, visitors and colleagues as individuals and with respect at all times
- Be responsible for working alongside the consultant psychiatrist delivering quality clinical service
- Be part of the MDT providing mental health service
- Be mindful of and actively involved in current safeguarding practices
- Work clinically with patients and their families/careers and other allied professionals
- Play a key role in the assessment of patients referred to the service
- Be directly involved in the treatment of patients referred to the service, particularly in respect of the use of medication
- Participate in devising plans of action using a variety of therapeutic approaches
- Support the implementation of plans of action in partnership with parents/carers
- Liaise closely with other relevant agencies
- Work with co-therapist where appropriate
- Keep accurate records
- Actively participate in weekly MDT meetings
- Actively participate in CPA meeting and tribunals
- Participate in the process of referral and admission including preadmission assessment with other team members within the multi-agency team
- Contributing to specialist meetings for the services provided at the hospital and contributing to the development of service strategy
- Contributing to in house training programmes within the services

- Check quality of own work
- Follow procedures, corrects errors or mistakes
- Comply with relevant regulatory and statutory requirements
- Keep clear and detailed records and files
- Adapt and/or proposes new services already introduced in other areas within the group to fit the needs of the local service
- Lead on implementation of these proposals within own unit, sharing best practice across other units within region
- Undertake any other appropriate roles and responsibilities as requested and required
Requirements of the Junior Doctor:
- Hold registration with GMC
- Be professionally accountable to the medical director and on an operational level to the consultant forensic psychiatrist
- Be aware of the special expertise of different disciplines within the service in order that the most appropriate help is provided for patients though consultation and/or active involvement of a worker from a different discipline
- Be in good standing for continuing professional development with the Royal College of Psychiatrists
- Be an Approved Clinician under Section 12 (2) of the Mental Health Act 1983
- Be a good team player, keen to participate in a multidisciplinary approach to assessment, formulation, and management plans
- Understand the policy and procedure regarding the use of confidential information and Data Protection Act
- Be flexible and adaptable to meet service needs, including working outside normal office hours at times
