Sanctuary Health has a permanent job vacancy for a Head of Nursing and Head of Quality to work within a Clinical Governance, Quality & Assurance department based in Maidenhead. The ideal candidates will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of general nursing and be registered with the NMC.

Candidate who have experience as just a head of nursding or head of quality will be considered, however this would mean these would become two individual posts.

Pay rate:

  • Head of Nursing/Quality: £62,770.50 - £66,612 per annum
  • Head of Nursing: £55,750.50 - £62,770.50 per annum
  • Head of Quality: £49,491 - £55,750.50 per annum

Job Summary of the Head of Nursing:

  • We are looking for a Head of Nursing to work with the multi-disciplinary leadership team in developing and delivering the Service of the highest quality to patients and their families. To lead and manage the nursing and care staff to ensure patients receive care that is safe, effective, responsive, caring and well led.
  • To promote a culture of openness and responsiveness to the view of the Service, a philosophy of person-centred care and recovery, and an ethos of positive learning from incident within a high performing service.
  • To be able to balance the philosophy with a passion for co-ordinating and leading patient safety.
  • Working with the Nursing staff the post-holder will be responsible for leading and advancing clinical practice in the hospital.
  • In partnership with the Hospital Director and Ward Managers lead on the development and on-going review of ward staffing models and that ward are appropriately staffed.
  • Oversee adherence to the Hospitals Incident Management Policy, including the Management of Serious Incidents, and embedding learning from incidents.
  • Oversee compliance with audits, the site risk register and ensure escalation to the corporate risk register as appropriate.

Job Summary of the Head of Quality:

  • To ensure compliance with all national regulatory and local care requirements and standards (including those set by Care Quality Commission (CQC) NHSI (Monitor) and NHS England) for the service. To effectively manage the governance and develop a strong positive culture, an ethos of service and climate which fosters effective multi-disciplinary working.
  • Work with the multi-disciplinary leadership team in developing and delivering a service of the highest quality to patients and their families.
  • Lead and continually improve quality across the hospital, ensuring it is embedded as day-to-day responsibility of all members of staff

  • To lead the governance agenda on behalf of the Hospital Director, to ensure compliance with all external and corporate quality agendas and regulators for leading and advancing clinical nursing practice in hospital.
  • Working with the Quality Team the post-holder will be responsible for leading and advancing clinical practice in the hospital.

Requirements:

  • Hold current NMC PIN registration and adhere to the NMC Codes of Conduct.
  • Recent UK Head of nursing experience
  • Substantial Management experience
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
