Pay Rate: £32 per hour

Hours: Part-time. Mondays and Fridays, 0830am - 1700pm  (unpaid breaks).

Main Duties of theApplied Psychology Teacher:

  • Develop and teach courses in applied psychology according to the curriculum and program requirements, ensuring that content is relevant, engaging, and aligned with learning outcomes.

  • Conduct lectures, seminars, and discussions to facilitate learning and understanding of psychological theories, principles, and applications.

  • Organise and oversee practical activities, such as experiments, simulations, or case studies, to help students apply psychological concepts in real-world contexts.

  • Create and administer assessments, exams, and assignments to evaluate students' comprehension and mastery of course material, providing timely feedback on their performance.

  • Offer academic guidance, counselling, and support to students, including advising on course selection, academic planning, and career pathways in psychology.

  • Mentor students in research projects, theses, or independent studies, providing guidance on research methods, data analysis, and interpretation.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with developments in the field of psychology and teaching methodologies, attending conferences, workshops, and training sessions as needed.

  • Collaborate with departmental colleagues to review and update curriculum materials, develop new courses, or program offerings, and incorporate emerging trends and research findings into course content.

  • Fulfil administrative responsibilities such as attending departmental meetings, participating in curriculum planning committees, and assisting with program accreditation processes.

Requirements of the Applied Psychology Teacher:

  • Qualifications: Hold a relevant qualification in Teaching and Learning.

  • Experience: Possess a secure working knowledge of the National Curriculum and its assessment, recording, and reporting requirements.

  • Compliance: Able to provide proof of eligibility to work and reside in the UK. Must undergo an Enhanced DBS/Children's Barred List check, hold a clean UK Driving licence, and possess TRN, QTS, PGCE qualifications.
