Our client is currently on the lookout for an Advanced Speech and Language Therapist to join an Acute speech and language team in St John’s Wood, London. Over the past two decades, our clients Rehabilitation centre has garnered international acclaim for delivering top-notch rehabilitation programs, positively impacting the lives of numerous patients. Their Speech and Language Therapy team plays an integral role in a holistic care approach, extending their expertise across an acute medical ward and Neurological rehabilitation wards.

The salary for this role is £49,181 per annum - £60,110 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Accountabilities of the Speech and Language Therapist:

You will work with diverse caseloads across neuro-surgical, spinal, oncology, general medical, and critical care units. You will engage in multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary team working, this is a key function of the team so experience in these settings is essential. You will work as part of a network convening regularly to stay abreast of the latest evidence-based practices and quality improvement endeavours.

Qualification and Requirements of the Speech and Language Therapist:

  • Professional qualification or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Registration with HCPC.
  • Significant experience in an acute adult hospital setting, including Critical Care in the UK.
  • Proficiency in managing tracheostomy patients independently within a critical care environment, evidenced by completion of the tracheostomy competency framework.
  • Successful completion of Level 3 videofluoroscopy competencies/MBSIMP.
  • Competencies in FEES are desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
