Pay Rate: £38 per hour (assignment rate)

Contract: Locum, 3-Months

Hours: Full-time

Main Duties:

  • To contribute to the delivery of a service for children, families and adults who are part of the Homes for Ukraine Scheme, and Asylum Seekers and Displaced People.
  • To complete a comprehensive assessment of Hosts in the Homes for Ukraine scheme, in advance of unaccompanied minors arriving at the placement to enable information to be passed on to the Home Office for visa purposes.
  • Work in an integrated and partnership focussed way with children, families and adults who are part of the Homes for Ukraine scheme, Displaced People and other agencies through the delivery of a defined practice model in order that families increase their capacity to function in the community without the need for intensive support.
  • Identify any concerns or potential safeguarding issues which may affect the placement for unaccompanied children, and work with Hosts to ensure a positive outcome.
  • Refer children, families and adults with multiple and complex needs where intensive support is required.
  • Liaise with the Private Fostering Team/Social worker to enable an effective handover for ongoing monitoring.
  • To work as part of a team consisting of practitioners with multi-agency experience in order to support children, families and adults known to the Asylum Seekers and Displaced People Service.

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant frontline experience in Children’s Services
