Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for Social Worker within the Leaving Care/Young People Team to work full time based in Wirral.

The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £39,564 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • To undertake direct social work responsibilities as an allocated worker to the children and young people assigned, investigating concerns regarding a child or young person’s safety or wellbeing, make an assessment of the risk and protective factors in the family and decide on the most appropriate course of action.
  • To work to a range of legal options to support investigation and protection and accommodation; if required to give evidence in court; using contingency planning to anticipate complexity and changing circumstances.
  • To undertake pathway planning in line with statutory guidance and ensure that all young people are collaborated with around their pathway plans.
  • To ensure that for those young people who are unaccompanied asylum seeking children that assessments are plans are sensitive to the individual needs of the child/young person. You will be responsible for Human rights and age assessments.
  • To work with children and young people, families, carers and communities to formulate care plans in partnership, based on their assessment of need, enabling them to clarify and express their needs and contribute to their planning.
  • To ensure the planning and review of statutory work with children and young people is in accordance with statutory regulation and to produce written reports and other documentation for this purpose.
  • To prepare and maintain case records and other casework information on the Integrated Children’s System, in accordance with the department’s policy and timescales.
  • To maintain awareness of own professional limitations and knowledge gaps. To make effective use of supervision and appraisal as an opportunity to critically reflect on casework and to identify learning and development needs to continually improve upon practice; and to support continual professional development.
  • To establish maintain good communication across children’s social care and with departments and agencies to facilitate the improvement and development if the service.
  • To demonstrate the standard of proficiency as required by the HCPC in order to maintain registration.

Requirements of this Social Worker job:

  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Continual professional development.
  • Social Work England registered.
