Pay Rate: £266 per day (assignment rate)

Contract: Locum, 3-Months

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm.

Main Duties:

  • To provide support with the operational leadership of the Attendance Support team and make a critical contribution to fulfilling the Council's statutory duties in addressing poor school attendance (Education Act 1996 Section 444)

  • Provide educational direction and expertise through joint working with colleagues in schools and other services including health, social care and the voluntary sector.

  • To provide support with managing interventions to improve school attendance across the borough.

  • To work in collaboration with middle leaders in schools, Social Care, Fostering, SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Team), YOS (Youth Offending Service) & other agencies to ensure that process and practice across services support Hillingdon’s children with school attendance.

  • Deliver programmes of practice development for the Attendance Support team and a programme of training and engagement for attendance leads in schools.

  • Provide management oversight of officers.

Requirements of the School Attendance Team Leader:

  • University Degree at grade 2:2 or above.

  • 1+ year of experience within a similar role.

  • Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS and 2 x references.
